To find out your IP address
go to Start -> Programs -> Accessories ->Command Prompt or MS-DOS
enter ipconfig
You'll see your current IP address. To view the camera,
please start IE and type in http://your IP address in the location bar. If you are behind a router, you can
find out your IP address, by logging on to your router.
If you see 2 Local Area Connections, please make sure you have selected the correct IP
address. (4.x.x.x may not be accessible from the Internet.) If you install one network
adapter on Windows XP but see two Local Area Connections, Windows XP may install the wrong device as
network device. Please right-click on My Network Places and then select Properties.
Right-click on Microsoft TV/Video Connection and then select Properties. Uncheck Internet
Protocol. Click OK.
Ping your IP address from the Internet or WAN. If you see "Request time out",
you may enter wrong IP address or you have disabled ping on the router.
IP address such as 192.168.x.x, 127.0.0.1, 10.0.0.x, 169.254.x.x is not accessible from the
Internet. If your IP address is 192.168.x.x or 10.0.0.x, please configure your firewall or
router. Before you configure your firewall or router, please refer to the user's manual to
check if they support IP Forwarding or Virtual server.
You may need to restart the router after updating the settings. If you haven't
restarted it, please restart the router and test again.
Which port do you use for Webcam 1-2-3 or Watchdog?
If your PC is not behind a firewall, you may try to change the port number since some ISPs
disable port 80 because of Code Red. Some router doesn't allow you to
use port 80 either. Note if you enter port other than 80, you need to enter
http://IP_address:port number in the location bar of IE.
If you are behind a router, please test the page from WAN.
Some routers will fail if you use the WAN IP to connect
to a local computer.
