How do I setup dial-up connection to my webcam server?
If you are using Windows 2000 or XP, please follow the steps to setup
dial-up connection.
- Go to Start -> Settings -> Network Connections -> New Connection Wizard
Click Next in the following window.
- Click Set up an advanced connection. Click Next.
- Click Accept incoming connections. Click Next.
- Check your modem device. Click Next.
- Click Allow virtual private connections. Click Next.
- Check the users's names who are allowed to dial in to the server. Click Properties and enter desired password. You can also set up a password later. Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Right-click on My Network Places. Select Properties. Double click on Incoming Connections. If you wish to change or set up a password, go to Users tab. Check user's name and click Properties to change password.
Click Networking tab to setup IP address.
- Select Internet Protocol. Click Properties.
- Enter 192.168.0.150 in the From field. Click OK.
Add dial up connection to webcam server on other PC
- Go to Start -> Settings -> Network Connections -> New Connection Wizard
Click Next in the following window.
- Click Connect to the network at my workplace.
- Click Dial-up Connection. Click Next.
- Enter Webcam in the Company field. Click Next.
- Enter your phone number. Click Next.
- Check Add shortcut to this connection to my desktop. Click Finish.
- To test the connection, double click on Webcam on the desktop. Enter your username and password. Click Dial.
Start IE and enter http://192.168.0.150 in the Location bar.
